Director of Sales – Americas [Christy Catalytics]

We are growing our Sales Team and adding a Director of Sales position. This sales leader is responsible for executing the sales plan for the North American markets, as well as leading and coaching the account managers to execute sales plans to grow 15% or more annually.

Christy Catalytics sells inert support media and mass transfer components to the natural gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, and metallurgical markets in over 75 countries to the world’s largest companies such as ExxonMobil, Saudi Aramco, BASF and more. We are part of Christy Industrial Holdings which provides industrial and ceramic products and services to heavy industry with roots back to 1922.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Coach and develop our North American account managers to grow targeted accounts to achieve our 15% annual growth plan using information in our Salesforce CRM.
  • Work directly with the customer through face-to-face or virtual meetings, lunch-n-learns, etc. to support account and team development.
  • Demonstrate strategic intellectual curiosity and technical competency by learning Christy Catalytic’s products, markets, and applications.
  • Provide leadership and technical competency to the team to free the President to focus on international growth opportunities.
  • This position requires 40-50% travel (10 nights/month) in the USA and Canada.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years of sales management experience with inert catalyst support, adsorbents, and/or mass transfer components to the natural gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemicals, and/or chemicals industries.
  • 4-year technical degree, preferably a B.S. in chemical engineering or instead of a degree, applicable technical sales experience.
  • Proven successful leadership experience.
  • Past success at opening significant new accounts where technical sales were required.
  • Past success working with logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering teams.

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., averaging 40-45 hours per week, with occasional evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
